THE CLEANUP NOTEBOOK
A little preparation prevents a lot of disruption.
Select a firm, level placement
A driveway or suitable private work area is often more practical than a public street. The surface must support the container and delivery equipment. Explain slopes, soft ground, pavers, or surface concerns before booking; discuss protective boards where appropriate.
Clear the entire approach
Move vehicles, bins, loose materials, and other obstacles. Consider overhead branches, cables, eaves, and gate clearance. The truck needs room to approach and position the container, not merely a space the width of the dumpster.
Check approvals and placement rules
If the location is in a street, sidewalk area, shared driveway, or managed property, verify permission and any local permit requirements. Do not block fire lanes, accessible paths, utilities, or emergency access.
Agree on the drop location
Provide the exact address, site contact, gate details, and preferred placement. Make sure a responsible person is available if needed. Confirm delivery timing directly; availability and access conditions determine what can be arranged.
This guide is general information. Accepted materials, weight limits, permits, and rental terms must be checked for your particular project and location.
